I’ve been working in the film + media industry since 2016 and have loved every minute of it. I have a heart for documenting the seasons of life we go through and crafting heirloom films to reflect them.

To me, there’s as much meaning and beauty in the subtle + intimate as there is in the grand + exciting. I love to artistically capture the pre-existing glory that makes you, you. Weddings and elopements are my main thing, but I’m always down to get creative in other projects. If you’re looking for a wedding film that bottles up all of the intimacy, love, fun, joy, and nostalgia of your day — I’d love to chat.

Hey there — I’m Michelle

Here to craft heirloom films grounded in nostalgia.

Since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to cameras and their ability to freeze time. Both of my grandfathers had an affinity for photography, documenting their school days, travels, and families. My step-dad was also in the business of preserving memories, starting his career as a school photographer. Surrounded by cameras, I naturally dusted them off for my own exploration (often sneaking away from family gatherings to play with one of my papa’s vintage finds in his office).

As I aged, my artistic side continued to grow and nestled into photography as its safe place. Throughout my adolescence I attained the titles of yearbook editor, go-to family photographer, and vacation “filmmaker.” I lovingly bothered friends and family with incessant documentation and constantly looked forward to any school project that involved artistic media.

Eventually I left my midwest town and moved to DC to attend college at Georgetown University, unsure of what to study but energized by the possibilities at hand. I applied and was accepted to the Film + Media Studies program and my love for cameras grew once again. The program taught me the ins and outs of film production, and gave me connections to some amazingly talented filmmakers, including the A24 team, Jonathan Nolan, Brit Marling, and Martin Scorsese. Throughout my years at Georgetown, I took on side work and was thrust into the world of freelance videography.

In 2018, my now-husband proposed, and the two major pieces of my life - wedding planning and filmmaking - collided. I filmed my first wedding just a few weeks before I, myself, got married, and never looked back. Now I spend my days with these cameras in my hand or on my shelf, crafting stories for you and your loved ones. I’m constantly grounding myself in the presence of those who have gone before me - family or otherwise - spurring me on to seek nostalgia in all I do.

⎯ My whole hearT ⎯

One reason I love filming weddings so much is because I’m a big fan of marriage. I’ve been married to my partner, Barrett, for 4+ years, and the family we’ve created is the greatest joy of my life thus far. We have a baby daughter named Juniper and a sweet pup named Luna. The joy of documenting my own family grow spurs my creativity on in my professional world, and reminds me of the significance of creating heirloom films in the first place.

When I’m not filming, editing, or creating — I’m spending time finding rest and joy in other places. Some of my favorite things to fill my time with are traveling, thrift shopping, drinking lattes, designing + working on my home, spending time with friends and family, and going on hikes.
